He had worked as Director Budget from 2012 to 2016 in Ministry of Railways, Government of India, New Delhi. In 2016-17. Government of India sponsored him to a one year PGPPM program at prestigious Indian Institute of Managment Banglore (IIM, B) where he received the gold medal for best academic performance.
Was declared sucessfully by UPSC in Civil Service Exam and joined central civil services (allied Group A) in 1997 as a member of the IRAS under Ministry of Railways. He has served in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Jharkhand and New Delhi in various capacities on Southern Railway, South Eastern Railway and Ministry of Railways. He has worked in Madurai Division, Adra Division and one of the prime ‘blue chip’ divisions of Indian Railways i.e. Chakaradharpur Division. In Ministry of Railways, he has worked in Statistics & Economics Directorate as Director (STAT C.A) for three years and then in Budget Directorate as Director Budget. he did his class Xth in ICSE Board, Intermediate in Science from Patna Science College and holds a first class B.A in English honors from Patna University. He did his M.A in linguistics from Delhi University in 1995.
He is recipient of National Award for Outstanding Services in 2006 in the Railway function at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi. The same year he also received an ‘Innovation award’ in South Eastern Railway for working on payment process in association with Reserve Bank of India, for cash-less systems. Chakradharpur Division, during his tenure, received best performance shield in 2007 & 2009. In recognition for his work in Budget, he received from the Minister for Railways an unparalleled outstanding national meritorious service certificate, in April 2016. One of his budget team’s unique contributions was leveraging IT and to achieve a recurring annual 14 million paper saving that, though a minor step, was commended at the World Environment Day at VigyanBhavan in June 2015.
He, in association with Railway Board library, National Archives, Parliament Library and Teen Murti Library, compiled Railway Budget Speeches from the very first in 1924-25 to the Independent India’s Railway Budget of 1947-48. He has served as Government appointed arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. He has acted as Nodal CPIO (Chief Public Information Officer) under Right to Information Act on behalf of the Financial Commissioner (Railways). He was the Controlling Officer of Railway English Medium Secondary School at Chakaradharpur and worked with the students and staff, in campaigns on science, environment awareness, sports and overall excellence. He was also associated with Community Center at Chakradharpur and have been actively associated with health camps and was a member of National Aids Control Organisation (NACO) while working in Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
His hobby is astronomy, He loves language, linguistics, grammar, literature, and their complex interface with all branches of human faculty.
